My job entails inspecting, diagnosing and the repairing of many different variants of trucks. However, my day also includes other workshop activities like cleaning and tidying. I sometimes travel out of the workshop to drop off or collect a workshop related item, this is because I have a drivers licence. I deal with drivers and customers daily when carrying out workshop tasks whilst they’re on site. During some point in the day I’m helping the qualified technicians with their job.
In my apprenticeship I have learnt many new things and developed some skills. For example, I have learnt how to deal and speak to customers properly whilst engaging a positive body language. This means I can now take that skill and use it in my day to day life with members of the public. I have also learnt the importance of rules and policies within a business which protect not only myself but other coworkers also.
I love my job, I enjoy working on vehicles in general. This apprenticeship has allowed me to work on a variety of vehicles since I started the programme. I’ve made many new friends within the dealership as well as some new friends externally of my workplace. Most importantly this scheme has allowed me to develop my learning within the trade, I am confident that this programme will further benefit my skills to be a fully qualified technician.
My programme is very well organised and is made clear to me when my college blocks are, when my assessors visit or when there is a meeting on the Teams application. When I’m down at college my accommodation is sorted with no problems or delays and the college know when my visits are. The way the scheme is structured is great as it is a very steady increase of knowledge learning which makes easier learning.
I receive enough support from my employer not only within the workplace but also externally of the workshop. If I need any resources the company will provide them and also give support which will aid me in my day to day life with the public.

Brilliant company to work for and there are many opportunities to do different things within the business. The employees all have respect for each other and is a genuinely enjoyable place to be.
Work as hard as you can but most importantly enjoy yourself.
