Operating the Pilot Plant, manufacturing intermediates and API.
I have learnt and developed a range of skills including: presentation skills, SHE and GMP awareness, LEAN manufacturing, academic skills and teamwork.
I enjoy my programme more than expected. The team and company are great to work with/for and the work is enjoyable whilst challenging me to develop and perform to the best of my abilities.
The programme is very well organised with thorough training and induction processes, mentors and support readily available, and a good structure to how to programme is set out over the 5 years.
I receive plenty of support from my manager and my mentor. I am able to access support easily from both my team and people in the wider organisation. Other employees are happy and willing to support me and offer guidance with any issues I have.
The distance learning students receive strong support from some lecturers and the course directors but other lectures aren't as good at responding to queries from the students.
The majority of the content of my course is applicable to aspects of my role. Other topics are applicable to roles in different departments, which I have to opportunity to learn more about. Working towards my qualification definitely compliments and supports my learning in the workplace.
There are plenty of events department, site and company wide which provide a good level of social interaction. The events vary in type, from quizzes to volunteering days to more formal events, and are all as enjoyable as each other.
