My role is an admin assistant, this involves answering the phone and speaking to both clients and staff, I also handle some paperwork like recruitment packs.
I think I’ve learnt a lot of skills working for the company I do like safeguarding, I have developed a good understanding of what it means and have worked it into my everyday practise, also I think my communication has improved more speaking over the phone to both clients and other staff members in a professional manner.
I really enjoy the programme I am doing, the colleagues I work with are very helpful and kind and the company that provides my training provide lots of helpful resources.
The activities and tasks set for me follow on from each other very well meaning some knowledge I’ve learnt from a previous task may provide some background information for the next task.
My employer is very helpful and always ask how I’m doing and check in on my progress, they inform me if they every speak with the company overseeing my apprentice and what they think of my progress.
I have phone calls every few weeks with my training provider where we discuss my progress and what i can do to improve, this is very helpful for me when i complete my activities and when I am at work, the advice I am given helps me reflect on where i can improve and what I am already good at.
The work I am tasked with by my provider links well with what I do in my workplace, I learn valuable information like confidentiality, safeguarding etc. which is very important for a care company like the one I work for.
We all communicate outside of work where we can relax and get to know eachother better on a less professional level however we don't do any activities due to the pandemic and the amount of work the company requires.
