I am on my 4th rotation in UK Operations as a Data Analyst. My day to day role involves implementing digital transformation solutions into the business to ensure medicines get to patients in the fastest and are of the highest quality. I implement powerbi dashboards, working with customers to meet their requirements. I also run weekly excel reports for senior leaders within the business, analysing drug metrics.
I have learn a number of coding languages, including: SQL, advanced SQL, Python, Java. I have also trained and learnt new software's such as PowerBi, Excel, powerapps I have been able to develop my existing presentation skills
I love the programme! Best decision I ever made. AstraZeneca is a fantastic company, supporting and embracing apprentices every step of the way. The rotation opportunities allow for such an expansion of AstraZeneca and the ways of working in the different departments of both IT and the business. AstraZeneca is the most supportive in terms of my education with MMU. The support is endless!
The programme is well structured. University is one day a week on a fixed day of which employees are supportive that this is a study day and not a working day. The rotation process is well structured, with new rotations every 8 months. There is a full process on how to secure and gain approval of your rotation choice.
The support AstraZeneca provide is endless. No problem is too big and there is always someone there to help. The rotations are 8 months and even then, managers are extremely supportive of us and give us such opportunity to shine! Buddy and mentors are excellent and are so approachable and allow great bonds to be formed
MMU are great, they are always asking for feedback and have dealt with the Covid19 very well. my skills coach/ mentor from MMU is faultless. She is super proactive and really supports me to do well. General attitude from MMU is that they really want you to succeed.
My degree has taught me the theory of which I can put into practise through work, which gives you a wider understanding of the theory and work based tasks together. My degree is also allowing me to continue my education and learning and this attitude can be applied to work by attending training courses and learning new/ developing existing skills.

AstraZeneca has allowed me to being my career and support my through my degree. Every single person that works for AstraZeneca changes the lives of the patients who rely on our drugs. It provides the best job satisfaction knowing you are changing someone's life! The support towards apprentices is top quality and I would high recommend to anyone!
Be yourself and be honest in your application. Do your research into the different sites/ drugs/ markets. On assessment centres, come dressed smart and be yourself. Its ok to be nervous! and Take a breath during interviews!
