Shadowing my mentor carrying out servicing, repairs and diagnostics. I also take vehicles for MOT and sometimes I have to go out and get parts too. I also have a responsibility to make sure the workshop is clean and tidy at the start of every shift.
I’ve learnt so much more in my first 3 months than I thought I would, I can now carry out a service with little help, I’ve developed my team work skills and I’ve also learnt how to use tools that I didn’t even know existed before my apprenticeship!
I thoroughly enjoy working at Motus in my apprenticeship role as I have a great team around me who support and encourage me to be the best I can
Due to COVID the college side of the apprenticeship is a bit up in the air but that’s fully understandable. I find Remit very on the ball when it comes to completing documents/ assignments etc.
Although I may not speak to management very often due to working for a big company, they bring themselves across as very approachable so I know if I did have an issue I feel very confident getting in touch with them
My Remit assessor regularly checks in with me to make sure everything is going well and that I’m on track with assignments
This qualification has highlighted the importance of organisation and making sure paperwork is completed to the highest standard. It also highlights the importance of safety in the workplace
There’s always something happening in Motus: wear red day, we were sent pancakes for pancake day, we have a walking challenge going on at the moment and we also have access to mindfulness yoga
Yes
Across the 2 depots I work at everyone is friendly and looks out for apprentices, if you’re willing to learn and willing to put in some effort, you’ll get a really valuable and rewarding experience in return from Motus
Don’t feel as if your gender/ age/ experience will be an obstacle as the company actively promotes equality and aims to be a business that is welcome to all.
