Working within the central London investment team I provide strategic investment and development advice to vendors and purchasers from the UK and overseas focused on commercial investment in the central London market.
I have learnt several new skills specific to my new role, to name a few how commercial property is valued, the different types of investment opportunities, and how to assess opportunities on behalf of clients using various methods of appraisal.
The programme is excellent, I have thoroughly enjoyed the ability to learn on the job while simultaneously undertaking a degree.
It is very well structured and easy to follow. Organsation has been excellent, although you do have to take initiative yourself to make sure you hit the various requirements.
I receive excellent support, my employer does not micro-manage me through the programme however I know help and support are there if needed. It is very clear who is there to help me.
UCEM my traininf provider have been excellent. I have a specific coordinator as a poitn of contact, they are kind, helpful and efficient whenever I have a query. The training itself is also well structured and delivered effectively through an online platform.
My qualification is directly related to my everyday role, and therefore it is extremley helpful in supporting my knowledge at work.
Yes a huge amount, although physical participation has understandly taken a hit due to covid. Previously there was sports events, team building days and professional networking events to take part in. More recently this has migrated online to seminars, hopefully we get back to the former soon though!
Yes
Savills are such a large and diverse company, so there really is an opportunity for everyone. Not just property specific but also in terms of marketing, accounts, HR... there are so many options. The ethos is welcoming and encouraging, and all my colleagues are genuinely nice, informed and kind people.
Do some research on the different departments and service lines Savills offer, so you have an idea of the one or two that particularly interest you. For example - commercial or residential property, do you have an interest in the sales and agency side of things or would you rather be working in planning or building consultancy? Having identified the different avenues your application and interviews will be better tailored and specific.
