Kitchen manager, i am in charge of a small team of 6, i train them with menu update. I control my GP,stock taking and ordering. i also cook on main service and ensure the quality of food is to company standards. i also am in charge of all health and safety with in the kitchen and ensure my team are fully trained with company guidelines. i get involved with the social media of the pub
I got my NVQs in 1995 so for me this is a refresh, however i have now learnt about world cuisine and how over the years food,cooking and health and safety has change
I have a passion for cooking, i understand how the science of cooking works but i really enjoy finding out the why!
The whole program is well organised, due to the pandemic everything changed and the structure is good and organised
My line manager asks me every month how i am getting on and likes to get information on the modules i am working on at the time. My mentor is very good with me as sometimes i really struggle and he takes time out to explain to me in more detail so that i am completely comfortable with it
