I manage a shared inbox and help people within the business with their problems with learning modules, i.e modules not launching, or not having access etc. I also arrange face to face courses by scheduling them into the system, which will also send an email out to the attendees with the schedule of the course. as well as creating new courses when requested by instructors.
I have learnt how to use our SAP success factors system which i have never used before. I have developed my communication skills through emails or Microsoft Teams calls/meetings. I have also developed my Excel skills - I had little knowledge on this when leaving school and have had the chance to develop this through creating reports, or collecting data in a spreadsheet etc. i have also developed my time management skills by needing to prioritise emails/workload.
I find my BPP programme quite confusing and I do not think some things are explained particularly well. i also like to be independent when it comes to learning modules/assignments i prefer to be provided with information and a brief and then start the assignments as i find it easier to plan and write them that way.
we are provided with a Learning Plan that has the dates and times of webinars which covers the whole duration of the course as far as i am aware this is good because it allows me to communicate with my manager/team and let them know when i will be on calls for my apprenticeship.
Whenever I have needed help with either my work or my apprenticeship work, my manager and team have always been willing to help and have helped me. me and my manager discuss when i have calls for my apprenticeship or when i need to have days out to work on my apprenticeship, this has been very easy to discuss and arrange.
I am able to reach out to my apprenticeship providers whenever need be with questions, i can also email my coach and discuss queries i have during the programme.
My programme, has so far helped me to understand my business even more by having to research into my business and gathering information for my first module. I think because I am still early on in my programme and have only just started the programme end of January it is too early for me to judge.
we have diversity and inclusion networks - however due to Covid-19 and majority of the business working from home i don't think a lot of extra curricular is going ahead at the moment and i am still new to the business so i wouldn't really know what extra activities it has when the business is running as usual.
Yes
Since working with the AA, I have not had the chance to meet any of my colleagues due to Covid-19, however I have still been able to communicate through Microsoft teams and feel the "Team Spirit". Everyone has been so welcoming and helpful, I can see from my own work and colleagues that everyone is willing to help when and where they can. recognition for good work is always provided which i think creates a good work ethic as it can be rewarding for people. I can also tell that there is lots of room for progress at the AA whether that is changing departments or picking up new courses and improving your skills.
Not to worry as much as i did because everybody is so lovely, even on my interview which of course was nerve-wracking i still felt quite confident and the people who interviewed me, brought up conversation other than the interview questions, which i think helped me with my confidence as it was like getting to know each other as well as being interviewed for the job. I would also say be honest, they're very understanding and if there is something you can or can't do at that moment in time or ever, communicate this with them and they will be able or at least try to make arrangements for you to work around this
