I am a new aerospace degree apprentice. Currently, I am training to be able to have the correct qualifications to handle/manage aircraft. Unfortunately, due to covid, this means I am remote learning and means that I am just learning content; however, the company have adapted very well to this although it has been quite intense. We are also required to do workshop and keep up to date with company e-mails.
I both learnt how to manage my time more effectively and also how to maintain concentration for an extended period of time when online, which can be difficult. I am sure that I will gain more skills along the way, it has just been difficult due to coronavirus and restrictions.
I think currently with the situation in the UK, it is really hard to fully enjoy your programme; however, the content is interesting and the instructors have all been lovely! I am hoping we can do more exciting things moving forward.
The programme is very well structured and we are mostly completely aware of what we are going to be doing from day to day and what are future are plans are. Considering how changeable everything is currently, the company has adapted extremely well!
I receive a lot of support. The company really takes care of its employees. My line manager is really wonderful and everyone has been so helpful and understanding of how difficult the change is. I feel supported and accepted by the all of the people senior to me in the company.
Lots of support is available and all of the instructors have always helped when needed.
Well, I need a qualification to actually begin doing my job, so it is very important! My degree naturally endorses what i do and expands my knowledge.
Currently, there is not much the company is able to do; however, apprentices have been invited to attend various calls and other different events and days.
Yes
The company is very well regarded and I am currently very impressed with the care they take of their apprentices. The work is also very engaging and most people you meet have been at the company for a very long time!
I would firstly realise that grades aren't everything. The company is interested in you as a person and what you have to offer. So, be yourself and practice for the interview. Also, make sure that you keep up to date with everything they send you.
