I am a part of the front of house team, and I do mainly reception work. This involves answering guest queries, responding to email and phone calls. I also set up room genie for the house keeping team as i’m on in the morning. I do the admin stuff and then I go and help the housekeeping upstairs
I originally changed my sales job to this job to gain experience in a different field and a different role. I went from working in retail to hospitality and from being floor staff to being a receptionist. I thought it’d be good to get more skills to add to my CV. I learnt how to deal better with customers, communication and handling queries
I really enjoy my course, I love learning and its so different from my previous background (having a degree from a university). The modules are interesting, informative and mostly related to my role. I learnt some things I didn’t know about the hospitality industry that I can apply to my job role.
The program is very well organised and structured. I love the way everything on the portal is set out. Originally it was difficult and daunting to navigate the portal but I managed most of it. The sections are easy to follow and they have a variety of media which is good for different learners
I have never really sought much support from my employer as of yet about my apprenticeship as i’ve only recently just started. I sought a little help from my employer in regards to company structure. But I feel comfortable asking my employer for help or insight for this course
I have been amazed by the support i’ve been offered by lifetime! I would definitely do a course again with them! Even the lady that took my application was great, friendly and gave me her number if I had any questions. The lady who did my pre interview and my trainer have been fantastic and sooo supportive its crazy!
Doing this apprenticeship allows me the opportunity to learn more about my job role and to delve deeper jnto it. It gives me the chance to learn more about my role and enables me to be able to do my job better and with less anxiety than I had originally
Not that I am aware of no. There are opportunities to volunteer to be our voice reps, but there are no fun extra curricilular activities. It could do well to enhance morale of the team and to enable the team to be involved more within the company and outside the company
Yes
They are reasonably supportive of their staff however they are chronically short staffed which isn’t great. Most of the time we are given good directions by people who know what they are doing and if they don’t know they will ask. The perks of working there are great and its like a family
Do your research on the company and be willing to learn quickly and get thrown into the deep end quickly. Most places its like a family and most people are always willing to help you and teach you. Always try to do more and impress to get noticed by people and guests
