I am part of the front of house team where I work day shifts as well as a night Porter at Boston Premier Inn. My job role includes a variety of jobs which range from checking guests in to washing cloths/shower curtains, cleaning linen rooms/reception and much more.
I have developed my skill of quick thinking and solving problems efficiently, this skill gets developed all of the time as I am more aware of what is on the system and what everything is for.
I enjoy my programme because there isn’t a massive work load so it is not too overwhelming trying to balance work and personal life. It also makes a massive difference that my regional trainer within the apprenticeship is lovely and easy going.
My programme is very well organised and structured as my regional trainer and I always have our next meetings booked and any online lessons always booked. The apprentice itself is a great format and easy to get around on mylife.
If I ever have any questions my managers are always there to answer them and if they’re not sure then they look into it and get back to me.
My regional trainer will always answer any emails if there’s any problems or I need help and she makes sure that I know that I can email for help.
I feel that as much as it can help me to think of different ways of doing my job and giving me ideas on how to handle situations, it’s not 100% effective because I have been in this job for 3 years so I find everything quite straight forward.
We don’t have any extra-curricular activities.
Yes
The company is fair and you get discount at a lot of places not just your own place of work because Whitbread owns multiple businesses.
I would tell people to be flexible and friendly and then you’ll be just fine. The rest will fall into place.
