  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role requires me to undertake project work relating to the mobile transmission side of Vodafone. This involves rising network requirement request, providing transmission solutions to radio towers, reviewing and approving site drawings, drafting and maintaining congestion reports. It also involves proving fibre solutions and guidance to offshore workers and departments.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed my apprentice program a lot. It has aloud me to learn new skills and giving me the ability and confidence to be able to begin my career and perform my role to a high standard. It has allowed me to branch out to other areas that I never knew I had an interest for.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The organized structure of the program has a little confusing to start with. With some of the apprentices being put into teams that did not match what the role stated or what was required to complete the apprenticeship course work. This was quickly identified, however the replacement role doesn't fully meet what i expected to be doing.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer offers great support to me while undertaken my apprenticeship. There has never been an issue when I have required extra time to complete a project or if I require time to undertake training courses. My manager has always made sure my work load is fair to allow me time to learn the role and ask questions when needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I would say I receive a fair amount of support from my training provider when working towards my qualification. It can sometimes be hard to receive the right guidance as the qualification is very set in its requirements but the apprenticeship roles can be varied. However my assessor was always on hand to answer any questions I had the best that he could.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my qualification will help me throughout my career and help me to progress to where I want to go in the future. I do however think the qualification may not be the best fit for my current role as it offers little insight in to what I do on a daily basis.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Currently during the Covid-19 pandemic there has been a hold on many of the extra curricular activities that are often held. However there has been a big push on using video call platforms to allow us to connect with other apprentices and other members of the business and been encouraged to get involved in online virtual fundraising and other charity events.
