  • Ensuring my business area is compliant, performing and expected and has the necessary tools and knowledge to successfully carry out their roles. • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt several new skills and developed on many exisiting. I have become more confident in my own abilities and decison making and this has aided be in securing a high managerial role. I have also been able to apply some of the theories i have learnt about in my course to improve performance within the team. Most recently I have utilised the different problem solving techniques I have learnt about and helped the team overcome some very complex issues.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have found my second apprenticeship very different to the first ( due to COVID) but if i am honest, enjoy it a lot more. I like the fact I don’t have to travel and everything is done remotely, I like the fact i get to interact with people outside my own business and i enjoy the independent learning. My coach is very kind and supportive also which makes a massive difference.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • On a whole I would say it is organised well. Group and 121 session are booked well in advance and structured well. The online learning platform is easy to follow and understand there is just some drawbacks with the actual application from time to time. I enjoy the virtual aspect of the whole programme.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot. The only reason I have been fortunate enough to do two apprenticeships is because E.ON are so supportive. They really are a business focused on helping individuals develop and succeed and this is fed down through the leadership time. I am given time to complete my work, opportunities to enhance my experience and guidance where required.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Whenever I have reached out for support I have always received it. My coach is really helpful and will go above and beyond to ensure I am supported in every aspect of my journey. The online learning platform can be overwhelming at times as it contains so much information but overall it is very useful. I am very satisfied with the help and support I have received so far.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think my qualification is helping me significantly. Having already completed a level 3 apprenticeship I was able to obtain a managerial role using the knowledge and skills learnt in my apprenticeship. Since embarking on my second I have progressed further in my career, somewhere I never thought I would be at this stage in my career and I think I owe a lot of my success to my apprenticeship. Although it is my own hard work and dedication that has got me here, the knowledge, skills, theories and techniques I have learnt along the way have massively helped shape the leader I am today.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At the moment it is limited due to COVID restrictions but I have seen things pick up in the last few months. As part of the E.ON talent programme they are beginning to put on virtual networking events. As restrictions begin to ease hopefully these extracurricular activities can begin again and I can join in on them.

  • 9a. Would you recommend E.ON to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • E.ON is one of the most supportive and caring companies i have had the pleasure of working for. I have always enjoyed working for E.ON and recognised they put colleagues needs and wellbeing before anything else. Having worked through the last year under them in a global pandemic I don’t think I could be more proud or privileged. They have gone above and beyond to support the needs of all colleagues and customers as well as taking wellbeing into consideration at all times. E.ON have always been committed to developing talent and supporting you with personal development, over the course of the last year this has not changed and I have been lucky enough to take on a second apprenticeship as well as secure a new role.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to E.ON?
  • Don’t fear you aren't good enough. I joined E.ON at a young age, with very little qualifications or knowledge about the company and had no idea what my goals in life where. Since joining E.ON I have been exposed to so many different things and have whole new outlook on my career. I know where I want to go, what I need to do to get there and how I am going to do it. EON have invested time and effort into helping me develop and supported me in every way possible. I think the most important thing when applying to any job is to be honest and open minded. E.ON is a great company with so much opportunity, if you work hard and want to do well this company will make sure you do, You are the only one stopping your success.
