My role as a receptionist includes the day to day running of the hotel such as check in-check out, answering calls, dealing with guests enquireries and ensuring all health and safety aspects of the hotel are followed through. All while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
During my apprentaship I have learnt far more about the business side of the company not just the face of the hotel. I am understanding more and more about budgeting, profits, legal requirements and gaining knowledge on managerial skills that will aid me in my work and in the future.
Currently I am really enjoying my experience with the programme. I have great rapport with my assessor and that makes the learning process a whole lot easier. It is definitely more difficult with being in the pandemic as I not physically seeing them takes away from the experience.
From the get go I have found everything within my programme to be very organised and managed to a high standard. I have never been left wondering what's next and there is always a plan in action.
There is continual support from my managers at Premier Inn, always checking in and asking in which ways they can help.
My trainer has been incredibly supportive and given me so much confidence in guiding the way though my qualification. Nothing is ever an issue and any quieries I have are ironed out ASAP.
There are so many aspects to my job role I never even thought about before enrolling in my apprentahip. I have become more awear or how I am performing and how to manage myself day to day making sure I utilise my time spent at work
Unfortunately with the pandemic turning everything upside down I haven't experienced any activities I am possible to partake in. Here's hoping when things are more normal there is a possibility of that.
Yes
Premier Inn can work to peoples best advantages. As having a very personable traits I work well with guests and working at the hotel I have been able to excell in customer service and I have been able to expand my skill set in the process
Be prepared it is not ur 9-5 job! With the new contracts stating you may work in different sectors of the hotel such as housekeeping and night shifts you must be able to go with the flow. But you have a great sense of teamwork with your co workers.
