My role on a daily basis is to clean departed rooms, making sure the right chemicals are used to meet our policy and following our procedures to ensure brand standards are met. I also support the head housekeeper with making sure enough linen is distributed to all housekeepers and rotating stock
I have developed my customer service skills a lot more by undergoing training as well as being taught how to work reception and how to use the online reservation system which also helps me with calculating what linen is needed
I really enjoy my programme as it helps me understand my business and how to properly support the head housekeeper in my hotel. It is simple and easy to use and my trainer is very helpful and understanding
My programme is very well structured with each module broken down into sub-modules so it’s not a great amount of learning and information in one go. It allows me to work through it at my own pace savings progress to carry on at a later time
I get a lot of support from my employer and management team. They regularly check up on my progress and how I’m finding it and helping find out information that I need that is specific to my business or job role
My training provider gives me a lot of support. They send out regular progress checks to ensure I am managing my coursework well and that I am understanding what I am doing as well as regular contact with my 1-1 trainer
I feel it helps me better in my role as I have more of understanding of what my mangers and employer expect from me and how the overall business is run
There is are always activities for us to take part in. During the first lockdown when all hotels closed they held weekly quiz nights so we could all get involved and check in on each other as well as having social media groups where we can also communicate with each other
