As a Junior Associate at PwC I am an active member of a team working with clients across various sectors to solve complex problems.
Whilst not on the formal programme, both my technical skills, such as Excel and Axure, and my soft skills such as presentation and communication have improved massively since starting.
Despite the long hours I work with an amazing team of surprisingly normal people who are all really committed to doing things well, which makes it a great company to work at.
Very quickly I became a core team member working on project critical roles. I never feel in a lower position than graduates, whilst always being given the room to learn and grow.
Internally the programme is excellent, but the qualification side of it, at BPP is much less well done.
Our training provider provides little useful help, and instead tends to just send emails rather than actually communicating. This is undoubtedly the weakest part of the programme.
My employer provides loads of support, from the option to take weekly protected time, to regular catch ups with relevant people.
We receive a very competitive salary, far above the minimum wage, but living in London is always a struggle...
We have a real focus on going 'above and beyond' so working in the community is a key part of PwC - we also have a generous social budget, and an excellent Christmas party.
