I really do enjoy my degree programme. I get a huge advantage over other accounting programme students as I have the benefit of studying towards my professional exams whilst able to work and put this knowledge into practice in the real world. The culture at PwC is very inclusive.
It is really well structured as there are multiple areas of support available. We had a two week long intense training programme before we started work full time. This was done remotely and allowed us to better understand what was expected of us and the firm's processes and systems.
We were assigned a buddy, career coach, flying start champions and have a manager/incharge on every job. They all regularly kept in touch with me and were always available for any queries or questions that I had. They were all very approachable and organised regular meetings to check in on progress.
I was provided with all of the relevant and texts books needed for the exams. The lecturers were always approachable and regularly organised revision sessions. My academic tutor was always available for any non study related issues. I really enjoy the course as a lot of the content is applicable to the real world.
Yes, a lot of the theory I have learnt is applicable to my role. In fact, it actually helps me to better understand the theory side when I am able to put it into practice
No I haven't been involved in any activities like sports but I did take part in a team social quiz. This was really good especially during remote working to bond with the team and also have a break from working!
Yes
They are a great employer who really does value its employees. This is shown by multiple reward schemes but also promoted throughout the company by individual behaviour. They are also very flexible and take into account the struggles from working from home.
Be prepared to work hard but also to enjoy what you do. You will be surrounded by really talented and knowledgeable professionals and this is something great to learn from
