My role is to manage the day to day tasks in 62 bed hotel. I am responsible for front of house and housekeeping department. I need to make sure our guests receive great service and spotlessly clean room adhering to our clean protect promise. we put our guest in the heart of everything we do.
When I start my apprenticeship i was a Head Housekeeper. The program helped me to settle to my new role as a Deputy Hotel Manager, to have better understanding for the business.I improve my management skill. Also I learn about different leadership styles and theories, when and which of my tasks I can delegate to different team members.
The program is easy to fit on your working days as you can do all your learning online. I completed my apprenticeship during the Covid pandemic and some times I find it difficult to motivate my self to keep going. I will live to had some conference calls with other learners to share what and how they are doing.
The program is organised very well. The learners are doing their task at home or at work. The trainer is coming to visit you at your working place in suitable for you time which is great. The only detail I missing is interacting with other learners. Your trainer is always in the other end of the phone ready to help.
My Manager support me during the whole period. Often we discuss the learning I am doing. We spend time discussing my business project and how I can put in practice everything I have learn during those two years. Also she did all my practical observations showing me areas in which I need improving.
My training provider was very supportive. I always knew what I need to do, by when and how. After the pandemic start they adjust quickly to remote sessions on Skype, teams or on the phone. They were there always when I need them.Very helpful and flexible when needed to book a session and understandably when our shift patterns are changing.
I feel excellent. I am very proud of myself completing my apprenticeship with distinction. I am very thankfully to my trainer for all the support and help received during my learning period. I will recommend the program simply because is helping to be better leader and manager and also to help you to stretch out of your comfort zone and have better understanding for the business..
Yes we had some activities for which I needed to involve my team. Also I have asked for their feedback for some topics to make sure I deliver the right massages to my team and also to confirm to myself that I am taking the right actions at the right time.
