In this role I do day to day tasks on the line. Learning the line on how it works. In this role I have to do quality checks to ensure the product is at a good standard. Also have to do maintenance with on the line to ensure it is running as well as possible.
On this i have developed new skills with on the line by doing the on site modules of training with on the line. Also have learned different team skills and working as team to ensure we have as much success as possible. I have also done training on a powered pallet truck.
I very much enjoy the team and the environment I work in everyday every tends to be very friendly towards me. To be on honest is exceeds expectation of what I was expecting especially working within the factory. I am very much enjoying working at premier foods it is a very good place to work as the possible and job is good.
My programme is very organised at the start we was given a list of the dates that we need to attend for the training days. On these days the tutor comes in and gives detailed sessions of learning. Then we allocated time in the week to do assignments and learning by premier foods.
My managers have been brilliant for me. Anything I've needed it has been there for me to get. They are very supportive with the apprenticeship and are always happy for me to have time away from the line to do my learning. We tend to see the HR team when we do are sessions and they often come in and check we are happy.
My tutor is always on hand to support me when needed. He is happy to emailed questions and when we have a one to one session he always encourages us to reach out if we need help. He always is supportive and happy to help when needed and attitude is spot on.
I believe the training we are doing is very very helpful for role we are doing because it is giving us a greater understanding of the companies needs. Not all it is necessary for are day to day role but gives an insist into other roles needs. Lots of the theories we put into practise everyday.
Due to Covid this has been none this available to me. From what I have gathered from talking to people once Covid 19 is gone they will start out of work time events. There is normally a Christmas party staff can attend. There is clubs and stuff you can join but dont know to much about.
Yes
I would recommend this course to anyone. This job gives all different types of skills. Premier foods is a very good company that looks after there employees. You get 3 recognized qualifications at the end of course that will allow you push from different roles and gives a greater knowledge of the manufacturing industry.
I would say must importantly be yourself. As within the company they are looking for people who will work hard but aren't going to be shy to chip in . The assessment days be talkative and make they know you care if you get or you don't. It will lead to better oppuntities
