Fixing telephone lines and broadband, as well as providing, going to the exchange and climbing pole and house end, going to pcp to terminate
Learnt new telecommunications skills, problem solving, understanding of the network
I enjoyed being buddied with an experienced engineer showing me how things are done
The program delivered was very structured, the NVQ days were great enabled me to get through the work
The support was tremendous, I had my NVQ teacher on sect at any time as well as my manger and team mates
The support was there all the time, if I had any questions they were more than happy to answer and point me in the right direction
It was the basis of me understanding the job role, by getting through the theory I was able to be able to complete real live jobs on the field,
I haven’t come across any of this events but that’s probably due to the COVID situation affecting everybody
