I work as a Quality, Manufacturing and Production Engineer, looking at problems/issues with our items on site under a selection of programmes.
There have been so many new skills that I have learnt since starting my apprenticeship, but a key skill I have developed is being able to create more complex excel spreadsheets
I enjoy the apprentice programme a lot. I have had the opportunity to meet loads of new people who I am sure I will be friends with for a long time
The programme is well organised and structured in a way so that everybody involves knows what is going on and understands the process
There is plenty of support available from the company, whether this is for personal, financial, mental or medical related there is always someone available to chat
The training off site at the training centre could be improved in some aspects as the level of teaching is not always up to standard however most of the time the work is suitable and delivered well
The training I have received helps me to understand the principles behind what I do on site at work, so it is very beneficial to receive the training from the start
Yes. There are many extra curricular activities that are available for people on site. whether this is sports (table tennis/football) related or more relaxing (photography) there is a wide range of activities suitable for everyone
Yes
The people you will meet have such amazing stories and there experiences really show how great the role is, as the opportunities available are not seen in any other job role
If you think you would enjoy it, go for it as it is well worth the time. The rewards are great and there is plenty of opportunities for progression
