Within my day-to-day role I assist with the placement and admin of Middle East & Africa Energy Insurance. Tasks can vary from helping create a contract to processing that same contract to produce a invoice. There is also other tasks such as creating premium worksheets and solving issues with your own creative solutions.
I have learnt many new skills and I have also developed many skills are already had. For example I have developed my word & excel skills since I started at Marsh. But for new skills I have learnt new systems which Marsh use daily and I have learnt how to communicate within the Insurance industry.
The progamme is great you have a great balance between your studies and your work. Also, you can learn a lot from working which will aid your studies. The programme also has a lot of support from the provider and your colleagues as well. Marsh also are very helpful when you have exams by allowing you to have the day off to concentrate on your exam.
The structure and organisation of the programme is great as you get 20% off the job training which means you get 7 hours a week to study and develop your skills within the workplace. Marsh also offers lots of training for you. Also, webinars always fall on the same day so you can plan around them.
Marsh offer a great deal of support from many different forms such as colleagues you are seeing daily and line managers who will check in every week or two. Then Marsh also offer extra support in terms of support groups for mental heath or young professional who are group you can get envolved with if you feel you need extra support.
BPP have a set programme for you which offers alot of support in terms of being allocated a set BBP coach who will aid you through out the process with your course work and exams. Also, they offer extra sessions if that is something you are looking have because you are struggling on something specifc.
The qualification is fantastic when it comes aiding your performance within your role because the qualifications puts the basic knowledge behind the work you are producing or dealing with. Therefore when you are looking through something you can understand the basic knowledge behind it and then you are putting the context of the peice of work you are doing.
YES! Marsh have a sports & social club which put events on throughout the year with offers as well such as a trip to Disneyland Paris was on offer last year at a discounted price. But within your specific team there will also be after work events planned for birthdays or other celebration. Also, due to the pandemic lots of quizzes have been put on by many different people within Marsh.

Marsh offers so much to help start your career within Insurance from the apprenticeship scheme to extra learning opportunities. Marsh is also a worldwide company therefore the potential to travel within Marsh or work in a office aboard is a potential offer for you. Marsh will also help aid you within developing your career further with other qualification that they aid you with.
When you are applying for Marsh don't be afraid to be unique when answering questions or applying because Insurance is a problem solving industry and having a unique mindset will set you apart from others because you have the ability to see a situation from another angle. Also, don't be afraid to get involved because when you are a invited for an assessment day because being yourself and showing your confidences is something employers look for. Also, do your research on the company because you are then showing Marsh you understand what the company does and you are being proactive which is another quality employers look for.
