My role as a nights receptionist is to make sure the guest we have staying with us are kept safe and that there is no problems with their rooms , we also do corridor checks to make sure no guests are getting disturbed by other guests i.e no loud music getting played or tvs are loud. I also deal with problems that any guests have and log into shift notes on the computer .My role is different to the day receptionists role . also when im on shift i still get to do my apprenticeship during quiet times .
I havent learnt any new skills in the hotel i work in as the hotel i work in has been closed due to covid . I developing skills all the time through lifetime the set modules to do which are really good. working nights means i have to fire refresher course every 3 months same with health and safety. I am doing a first aid course which is external training, my personal skills are customer service , which i learnt through the family business .
I enjoy this programme a lot its giving me a chance to go further in the company , i like the challenges the course sets out , also the course work i have to do on whitbread academy , plus what im learning off my manager and while im shift dealing with guests,
My programme is well structured and organised , i can do it at my own pace and if i need any help my area trainer is always available as is my manager. Its an excellent course /
I recieve a lot of support from my employer regarding my apprenticeship and my job role ,when i have tests to do online i get to do them again which is really good ,also if i my manager asks questions about my role which is usually out of the blue without any notice if i get anything wrong i go and do the tests again til i get the answers right . my manager is always there if i need help and advice.
I get a lot of support from my training provider and area trainer who sets me questions to answer , then the trainer will talk about the questions as im answering them i dont realise ive answered questions that hes not set for me .
I feel my qualification is going well so far , bit shocked that for my end point assessment i have to do a brief and a business project , which at the minute i haven;t got a clue what to do it on. my trainer reckons ill be fine, i am performing better in my role because i am keeping update on whats going on in the hotel i work in
there is extra activities in work , where we will arrange a catch up , go for meal, but at the minute thats all stopped due to covid
