I do the day to day running of Manchester Bury Premier Inn. I lead a team of 26. I deal with the sites P&L, Labour, Linen and Guest experience
Yes I have learnt more skills around Recruitment and the people strategy within business during my apprenticeship. I have learnt about planning who could be next in line and trying to get progression through the company.
So far I have enjoyed it and can't wait to expand my knowledge further and put it into practice in the workplace once our site opens again.
It is very well organised I have an experienced trainer who is there if I have any questions or queries. I have also been given an itemised plan and have regular webinars and catch ups with my trainer.
I get a lot of support from my Hotel Manager and I get given the time to complete tasks. I also get asked how my apprenticeship is going from my Regional Operations Manager. Also I have a network of Deputy Hotel Managers who support me.
I get regular messages from my trainer and he always has his phone on if I need anything. In addition we have a call once a month where we work through anything I'm stuck on and he assess my learning
It helps me a lot as it is expanding my knowledge and helping me to put new things into practice within my role.
Prior to covid we would have site Charity football matches which were a good way to socialise. We also have regular networking calls within the Central Manchester DM population.

I have worked for Whitbread for 7 years and they have helped me progress through the ranks. They have also given me the opportunity to gain qualifications and I have met some great friends along the way.
If at first you don't succeed try and try again because whitbread are one of the best companies you could possibly work for.
