  • when i was completing the apprenticeship i was in HR working in the Diversity and Inclusion team, i was supporting the managers on D&I initiatives

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My business administration apprenticeship helped me develop skills such as communication with different stakeholders. Additionally, i got an insight of all business as usual roles

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i did enjoy doing my apprenticeship as it allowed me to be exposed to a different work environment that i am used to and the course allowed me to fit in well. However i did feel like my workload was alot as i had to work my day job and complete apprenticeship

  • Post Office was organised well, however when the new CEO came in it was structured well and values were repurposed

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • the team that i am in now, i have a very good line manager who is always pushing for my personal development, meets with me regularly to make sure i have what i need and to expose me to new opportunities

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • i received a great amount of deal with my trainer, Lauren, she was vital to my passing as she made our sessions fun and encouraged me to aim high.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i believe the apprenticeship qualification i have is definitely allowing me to perform better as i understand how the organisation works and the different processes, if i didnt have this knowledge i would struggle to exceed in my role

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As we are all now working from home, post office do occasionally have social events open to all, training sessions with external groups. However, during my apprenticeship which was from the office, there was always networking events internally and externally that i was invited to or signed up.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • its starting to become a little bit more diverse in terms of age, genders and race which is motivating as a person of colour myself. its a business that thrived during the pandemic and the values are lived by everyone
