I am an Audit Associate and I complete tasks within an audit team on a day to day basis. These tasks include being responsible for and completing testing on different areas within an audit and interacting with the client to obtain relevant information/resources.
Yes I have significantly developed my communication skills as well as my professional skills when on calls with the client as well as improving my teamwork and organisation skills when working in a team to perform different areas of an audit.
I somewhat enjoy my programme because the learning courses have been valuable and there has been many opportunities to develop my skills as well as learn new ones. However, I feel like the programme has been a lot harder to learn and to develop/gain important skills due to being remote and not being able to work together in person or work with the client in person because of COVID.
I believe the programme is very well structured with a clear timetable and very well orgnanised with lots of opportunities to reflect and develop your skills after training/work.
I receive good support from my employer as they assign us a counsellor who we can refer to if we have any problems in addition to providing supporting through various training courses and other useful resources.
The support we receive from our training providers when working towards our qualifications is great as we are provided with multiple resources we can use to develop our learning as well as having an assigned tutor who we can go to for help.
Most of the stuff we are learning from our qualification hasn't been very applicable to the tasks I am performing at the moment however, that is due to the fact that I am at an early position in my qualification. The more useful stuff, which can be applied to the job, is what we will be learning about later in the year.
Yes there are multiple extra-curricular activities to get involved in such as the Yorkshire three peaks challenge. It has been hard recently to organise such activities due to COVID but EY are planning to get more things like this organised.
Yes
EY are a very supportive company who offer valuable support to help you with your work or qualification. In addition, the people at EY are all very helpful and welcoming which creates a good working environment.
Try to get involved with as much as possible in order to meet new people and develop good working relationships which may help in the future.
