  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Shadowing employees in the tax and transaction services division at PwC Belfast. Working on past projects as well as live client projects. We always had an apprentice beside us in case we stumbled across any difficulties.

  • Developing office-based skills such as writing emails and Microsoft Excel.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Business Insight Week. It was surprising that we were able to carry out the work that higher apprenticeship employees do on a daily basis.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by PwC?
  • They treated us like actualy employees. They gave us an expensive laptop to use throughout the week and bought us dominos on the first day!

  • Very well organised. Our time was split evenly between tax and transaction services and every day was timetabled perfectly.

  • Training in Microsoft Excel and Outlook as well as in most of the management software that PwC use.

  • Training in Microsoft Excel and Outlook as well as in most of the management software that PwC use.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I was surprised to get any pay for one week of work experience. Very high hourly rate. I would have happily worked for nothing.

  • As far as I know there are many social outings as well as some sports teams.

  • Yes

  • Its a very employee focused firm. Everything is done to ensure that employees have the required skills to offer the highest quality to clients.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Know your stuff about the company itself. Always read the business headlines and think about how they could help you and your clients.
