This varies from day to day, mostly i will assit senior members of staff by writing sections of reports. Previously i would be completing tax returns which would then be review by a senior member of staff
I have learnt alot since starting. i started with very little knowledge on tax and i have since grown to having experience in two very different aspects of tax. I have started completeing ICAEW level 7 appretiship and have passed my first account exam.
Although the program can be tough everyone in my team and the wider company has made an effort to make my experience in EY enjoyable. The company culture has been great especially when considering covid.
There has been a clear timetable from the start in regards to exams and training. However sometimes a little more guidance could be beneifical.
In terms of individual employees providing support everyone has been great. Overall i feel as if there could be abit more support in regards to exams, however i am very greatful for the support i have been provided with so far.
Generally the support in regards to exams has been good, however there has been a few issues with communications, possibly due to this program being relatively new to the office.
The qualification will help with my role as it provides a background understanding to accounting in general and it also gives me the opportunity to progress in my role.
Even during covid there has been alot of extra curricular activities, most notably has been all the support networks on offer, there are also sporting committees and events like Christmas parties and other socials. I have also found the internal volunteering program has been great and i have found that really rewarding.
Yes
The culture between the employees and the company as a whole is very welcoming. There is alot of opportunity to grow and learn new skills.
Just be yourself through the application process, everyone is really nice and the application process isn't as daunting as it seems at first.
