I will have various jobs to do; shampooing for stylists, sometimes blast off hair. Junior. Cleaning, receptionist. But I am beginning to do some clients when I get back to work. Whilst also training as well. I will greet customers and sit them down. Offer them drinks and take coats.
I have learnt customer service skills. I have become confident in speaking to clients and asking what they’d like. I am also learning new skills like cutting hair, colouring techniques. And I will continue to practice these skills so I can pass my EPA. And do these in the salon
I enjoy this programme as it’s most suited to me as I went to college and I didn’t want to go university or go into college. So the work is home and salon based which I enjoy. I have access to contact my tutor who will help me.
I think it is very organised. And especially during lockdown with there being webinars to help every day. And some are recorded if you miss them. Which I find very helpful. You have dates to complete work for and dates where you have sessions with my tutor which is very organised
I receive a lot of help and support from my employer, whilst we’re able to start training again in salon we’ve been doing it on a weekly basis. And when there’s time we can fit in training in the salon when we open. I have found it very helpful
I find I receive a lot of help from my training provider especially during this lockdown with webinars and help. And we can ask them for help if we need it. And can be given feedback. Also I am able to contact them easily for help if I need it.
It is helping me learn new ways to do hair and I am able to look at theory side of it as well. And if I need help I can always ask and it be given. It gives me chance to better myself in areas I struggle with and be confident with them
I haven’t done any extra curricular events but during the lockdown I have been doing hair courses with our colour provider Wella to get a better understanding at the products we use and how we can use them in different ways than how we use them now. Which has been helpful
Yes
It has been very supportive and helpful especially during this lockdown where I’ve had to push my end point assessment back which I am very understanding about as I am not ready yet. I have help if I need it and can easily access that help. There’s lots of ways I can learn more
Don’t stress over it too much, as if you can’t do something straight away it doesn’t matter as you can practice and get all the help you need. Don’t be hesitant to ask for help when you need it and to get involved with webinars and sessions
