In my role I will shadow engineer on a daily basis and study for exams that will give me access to my engineering licence. As well as this I will get involved with jobs I have completed before, enabling me to gain trust from the other engineers in my working environment.
Since starting my apprenticeship, I have improved on most of my engineering and applied skills. This includes my hand skills in the workshop and when manufacturing materials. I have also developed my English and maths skills as I can now understand both the imperial and metric measurement systems.
I have enjoyed my programme very much and created many friends during the process.
I think the programme would've been very well planned if the lockdown and other corona virus preventative measures hadn't happened. However, I feel i have been managed fairly well.
I feel if I had an issue with my work life I would be supported. However i have not had many issues to need supporting.
We were provided with revision material in terms of the exams and the lecturers who cared were great. However, the NVQ side of things was/ is very minimal.
I feel it has given me a better understanding of the health and safety and the hazards around my workplace.
No, other than friends organising it within themselves.
Yes
I feel it is a better company to work for who offer better training activities.
Make sure to be yourself. And have an understanding of what you are actually applying too.
