I work on the central Bid Management team, my day to day is very different as no day is the same. It ranges from organising and facilitating meetings, ensuring that all documents that need to be updated, maintained and completed are done so.
I studied project management at university and doing this role has enhanced my skills in this. During my time at Babcock, I have been given my own projects to manage and this has given me valuable experience.
I really enjoy the programme that I am on. The development opportunities are fantastic and I never feel that I am not being challenged. There is always something to do and everyone in the business is supportive with whatever you want to do/ try next.
The programme is very well structured, there is always communication between the Unviersity and the central O&D team within Babcock are always available to raise any concerns with.
Support from Babcock is brilliant. Managers and the central O&D team are supportive with workloads and giving time off to attend lectures, exams and study.
We have at least 2 contact days a month with Aston university. These are either MSc modules or modules to complete to go towards the Degree Apprenticeship. The team at Aston are very approachable and always contactable.
I think that going through the modules and doing the reading that goes along with the module gives me a deeper knowledge on what I am doing and allows me to perform better.
There were many networking events pre-COVID, this has understandably stopped for the time being. There is a great community of graduates and apprentices and there is always social activities. There are sports teams to join dependant on location.
Yes
The support received by everyone in the company is second to none. Everyone is kind and willing to help and no question is a stupid question.
Just be yourself in everything you do and never say no to an opportunity.
