A regular day involves performing audit work as part of a team. Your roles are delegated from an Incharge so that you always have a plan for the day and often further in advance for the week or whole length of job. Days can also involve client calls and larger office activities.
The placement has allowed me to put into practice what had been learned through Uni but has also taught me much much more than I knew before starting. It has also helped learn all PwC specific programs but also greatly improved skills on programs such as Excel and Google Sheets
I thoroughly enjoyed the program. It has showed me what life is like when working in Audit and has allowed me to put into practice the theory learned in university. Given the circumstances working from home PwC have done all they can to make the work experience as it would be normally.
The program has been well structured with lots of time initially to do the training required before moving you into an audit team. I have always known what jobs I would be on well in advance thanks to resourcing allocating us to jobs in plenty of time which has been good for planning.
There are lots of systems in place for support, We are given a buddy and career coach which are there to help us with any questions and issues. Everyone I have worked with has also been there to offer support and help as well as older flying start students who have been there to support the most.
PwC provided initial training for the placement and the University has supported us before placement and will continue to do so after. There is little overlap between the two but there is time after placement to transition back to uni before exams start. There has been support from both whenever has been needed.
The end qualification of the Uni degree and the ACA chartered exams will provide us with great qualifications and what we will need to be part of PwC. What is taught as part of these qualifications is what we are doing day to day so it is very much need.
Each audit team tends to provide small social events for half an hour or so mostly daily which is great to break up the day. There has also been office social events. During COVID these have been limited but there has still been social events regularly to keep days varied
Yes
This has been a great placement on which I have learned lots. PwC have provided lots of support throughout all years with regular meeting even when at uni and have given us all the tools and skills we have needed to succeed. PwC have been an enjoyable company to work for over placement
The Flying start program is has been great. I would definitely do this again and even though experiences have been limited due to covid I look forward to the time we get to go into the office and work will be back away from home. PwC looked after us and supported us throughout
