  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes i have learnt all the skills from my day to day job. The university is ok but just taught things i know already. The on the job learning opportunities are incredible however and its a great way to develop as a software dev of the course of the program

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the program but it is a lot of hard work, when im not at work im at university and the combination of the tow take up all my time, even into weekends sometimes. At work, the wage could be higher for whats received but that does not affect my enjoyment

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The university has an amazing structured course. its refreshing that each semester we do a variety of modules and cover a broad range of topics. Im looking forward to the third year of university to enjoy the structure even more. The work day is self structured and I've learnt how to do that.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Not much support in terms of financially. Support in terms of learning potential is high though and we have all the resources to grow into an excellent developer. If there are any technical questions then I feel free to ask my fellow peers, even though most of the time I know the answer already, I could do if I wanted.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Average level of support from the university, the main problem is the work level however. There is a large volume of un-intersting work that could be made alot better if the level was higher and more tailored to higher academic achievers. Coming from a BBTech I do feel that the support is ok however.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • the qualification is very good and allows me to achieve my potential. It helps me perform better in my role as it makes me understand the concepts and programming languages better. I feel like it will prepare me for life better as it teaches all the fundamentals of coding.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I like extra curricular activities. It helps me relax and ensure that i have a life outside work and university. It makes me feel very happy that i can do both whilst on the program and i feel like that will continue throughout the job of mine and others. It's very important.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Goldman Sachs to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • The work is good and enjoyable but its very hard to have a full life outside the program. I have to devote my time to my studies and work which is hard and outside of monday to friday i still find myself working. I would recommend the program if someone is able to accept the time constraint.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Goldman Sachs?
  • Be yourself and enjoy the process. We are the future, children are the future. Take every day as it comes and enjoy the program and try to get as much knowledge out of it as possible. When applying dont worry about the knowledge before you come on program as others do not get prioritised.
