  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Being a Cloud Engineer Apprentice, I'm in the process of learning about tools, processes and technology used to support an enterprise cloud platform, especially, AWS. On a day-to-day, it involves self-studying, participating in hands-on training and mentoring sessions with colleagues within the team, updating documentation on the cloud platforms to ensure it is up-to-date and available for all colleagues, attend 1:1 with manager, team meetings and organisation-level meetings.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It will definitely be a great help to my day-to-day assignments as we take time to review the theory behind everything I put into practice and I can ask questions and I know where to look for information.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have 5 volunteering days we can use to support a charitable organisation. There's also a Christmas gala and team socials. We haven't been able to enjoy all of these as much as we've been in various lockdowns but this is something that will hopefully resume soon.
