I have gained my Level 3 qualification in Accounting when I completed my first apprenticeship. I am now on my second one with Sage which will then mean I have completed my Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting. I have also developed more confidence within myself because of the different types of tasks I do day-to-day.
I enjoy my programme a lot. I have learnt a lot of different skills both in college and within Sage. They treat you like you are just another employee so there is no discretion between you and another person. Within my department they allow you to work on my college work during work hours to help with the programme.
The programme is very organised / structured. I go to college once a week, complete homework after work and exam are always planned well in advance so you have enough time to revise for this. Sage support you when you are having an exam. Every time I go to college work is always ready for me.
I have a lot of support from my employer. I have certain issues that Sage have definitely accommodated for. I have had a desk assessment to make sure that I am comfortable at my work station. They have been very fair if I needed to take a little break for my back as well. I also receive a lot of support towards my qualification as well.
I receive a lot of support towards my qualification. They help if and when I need it. My tutor is always there when I need her. There are several mental health options to support you if you need it. There are loads of different things that the training provider can support you with, I just need to ask.
My qualification has helped me with my role because it has made me more aware of how the business works. How the accounts work for the business. When I worked in the R2R department it helped me to understand the importance of why the tasks I done were important for the business.
There is something called Sage Foundation days where colleagues can go and sign up to a load of different things to help the community. There is something to do everyday. Also, you can do some training on your own to better your understanding on something. It is very good that you can do this.
Yes
The support that Sage have given through Covid-19 has been like no other, whether it be working from home, or just giving support through it. It has great benefits, flexibility and I work within a work an amazing team who are very supportive not just in work life but my personal too.
Make sure you big yourself up - you have probably done more amazing things than you think you have. Be confident when speaking in an interview and dont be afraid to ask questions. Sage staff are very friendly so they make you feel comfortable which is an important thing. Just be yourself and you should be fine :)
