My role was to work with different teams and clients that I was assigned to. Once assigned I was usually set up with tasks by the senior members of the team who also provided me with the necessary guidance and coaching required to complete a certain task. Once done with a task, a senior member would review it and let me know if there's anything wrong with it
I got an inside and in-depth look into how an audit takes place. I also got introduced to the various softwares and technologies that the firm uses to undertake the audit. I got the chance to perform the audit procedures required and learnt on how to request the necessary documentation from the client
I enjoyed being on placement a lot. It was easy to integrate into different teams on different audits easily as people were nice, welcoming and friendly. I also received a good amount of support from everyone around me as people were ready to help. All in all it was a great experience!
It was very well organised by the firm. We were given training before actually starting our placements and this helped us to integrate smoothly into the firm. We were all assigned a career coach and a buddy to help us get settled into the firm and also to provide us with support
We were assigned a career coach and a buddy from the first day. They were a point of contact for any issues or problems that I was facing and they seemed willing to help me with it. Everyone seemed eager and happy to help and this made me feel supported.
On all the engagements I worked, I was supported by the seniors on it. They helped me by bringing me up to speed with the client and also assigned me work. They also provided me with the coaching and support needed to complete the work and encouraged me to keep on asking questions if I need clarity or if something didn't make sense
I have certainly learnt a lot on the 3 months that I was on placement. I got to see the concepts that I had studied in university being put in use in real life audits and this gave me greater understanding into the subject and my qualification. This experience will certainly help me once I come back on placement next year
I was put into an industry group upon the commencement of my placement. Inside the group there were a range of social activities to get involved in. Apart from that there were also some events hosted for the entirety of the firm.
Yes
I enjoyed my time there on placement and would certainly recommend this to a friend. The staff and people working in the firm were very nice, welcoming and the work that i did on placement was really helpful and it gave me good practical knowledge and experience as someone who is pursuing a career in the field.
PwC is one of the best firms out there and working for them has been a really good experience and a privilege. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about applying for the Flying Start course as I feel that the experience and the knowledge taken away from the placement is invaluable
