  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role includes reviewing company financial statements and ensuring their accounts are a true and fair reflection of their financial statements. I organise and review junior staff worka s well and ensure that all tasks are completed to a good standard and that all risks have been considered in the work.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt and developed existing skills. I have had a lot of opportunities to try new things such as chat shows, being a part of regional promotional videos and also a podcast for other business aprentices. Not only has this developed so many skills, it's put me out of my comfort zone.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme because I love the job and really enjoy the client interaction that I get. I am constantly learning new things and I have a great support system which includes my counsellor, my buddy, my peers and the managers and higher in the office. It's great.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well organised and structured because we are given block time off for study and then have the exam not too long after we've had the study for it,. This is really helpful so that I'm not trying to remember loads of information for an exam that is really far away.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer. Especially in the current environment, we are constantly being sent wellbeing links and having more frequent catchups with one another to check up on each other and as a reminder that we all have each other even though we are not together

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider helps sometimes. They have various ways of getting in touch with them when struggling with an exam question but sometimes it's not very helpful because they give you a similar answer to the book but would be more helpful if they talked it through. However during college they are really helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Some of the exams are really beneficial to my work but some of them are not but I understand that they may be helpful to someone else. For example, the tax exam is not very helpful in my day to day but someone working in tax will use this a lot more or something that works with overseas companies may find it more useful.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are loads of networks to get involved in such as Diversity and Inclusion, Womens Network, there are football clubs you can join. In my office we have a baking club, movie club and we have quizzes twice a week for people to get involved in. There is a lot

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend this company because it really focuses on growing and developing you as a person and ensuring your enjoying what you do or cares about your wellbeing. I think that everyone is super supportive and listens to what you have to say even if you are not the most senior in the team

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • I would advice people applying to this company to enjoy the process, don't be too hard on yourself. Research the company, complete the various quizzes to see where you would fit in, and do not be so nervous. It may be scary at first but everyone is really nice. Prepare yourself.
