I work as part of an housekeeping team for Premier Inn. My general duties are cleaning and servicing hotel rooms, greeting any customers in a friendly and helpful manner and ensuring that my work tools are clean and stored correctly.
I have developed quite a few new skills on the course , for example, how to approach disability, discrimination, exploitation of people and British values, along with practical training such as : waste management and recycling, cost effectiveness of a business, how to budget and much more.
I like to learn new skills and have really enjoyed working with my tutors throughout, I enjoy the fact that the programme makes you think of the business as a whole and offers the learning to further your career within or outside the business you work for.
It is very well organised and structured. The work load isn’t overwhelming, it is easy to follow and complete. Even throughout a pandemic, my tutors have been incredibly helpful and available to help with any issues that may arise with in the programme.
My employer is incredibly accommodating, helpful and understanding. Nothing is a problem and they always manage to find away around any issues.
I could not ask for better tutors, they are very friendly and easy to talk to, always at hand if any issues pop up. They explain everything very clearly and help you to understand anything you may be struggling with.
It builds a knowledge base about the business as a whole that gives me confidence that I can preform my job to the highest standards and also understand other peoples roles in the company and why it’s important to work together for the company to be successful.
I’m not really sure, I haven’t worked for the company very long and a lot of my employment has been during the Covid19 pandemic, so I haven’t had a chance to experience any work events yet.
Yes
Whitbread has been a very positive experience for me. The people I work with a all lovely are work as a team regardless of position. The company has been very accommodating around child care issues and also offer training, they helped me build confidence in myself.
Be yourself, don’t be afraid to ask questions about the role you are applying for and be honest.
