Typical day to day roles include shadowing Maintenance staff and taking notes of the activities completed to match the requirements for the NVQ. Role also includes conducting preventative maintenance on machines and factory equipment as well as ensuring all machines and equipment are running up to standard and without any damage.
All the skills being learnt on the shop floor contribute to the overall NVQ qualification which is received at the end of the apprenticeship. A logbook is kept which outlines all the activities and new skills which have been learnt on each day. These skills can also be used in the future.
Overall program is at a great quality and lots of support is available in order to assist apprentices with achieving their overall NVQ Qualification. The programme offers a lot of chances for self development. The programme has many fun features about it as no day is the same as the one before.
Overall organisation of the program could have been improved. I believe the major reason for the organisation not being so good is the huge size of the number of apprentices in which the company employs and trains. The organisation could have been greatly improved as it seems most decisions are taken last-minute.
The amount of support received from the employer is huge and there is a clear indication that the employer wants the apprentice to succeed and gain the qualifications. Apprentices are given a lot of point of contacts should they ever need help or assistance with anything during their apprenticeship programme.
As mentioned in previous questions, there is a big level of support that is received throughout the apprenticeship. The support can vary from being qualification specific to personal and mental health specific of the apprentice. The support is a huge boost when completing the apprenticeship and overall qualification that is gained.
I feel that by getting an on-hand experience at doing activities specific to the job it helps me to be much better at the role. It also helps me develop myself which will be greatly beneficial in the future once I come out of the apprenticeship as I will have all the skills I will need.
The company offers a lot of extra-curricular activities after shift hours such as a rugby club and football club. There is a lot more activities which employees and regular members of the public can partake in which all link to the company. Apprentices are sometimes invited to partake in professional networking events as part of the STEM outreach.
Yes
The apprenticeship offers a lot of benefits which include a competitive salary and a big chance of personal development. The apprenticeship will shape people into being better selves and better skilled employees in the future. The company will give a lot of opportunities for further development to the apprentices as well.
As this type of apprenticeship is very competitive and a lot of people are applying for the same role. During the onboarding process, the main advice is to be yourself and show who you really are and proving it with bringing examples of past work and experiences. These will all help you pass the process.
