Aerospace fitter Review

I go to work and I go to the shop floor and then I build an engine for a specific plane and then the engine will get built by another shift as well and when it’s done a new engine will come into the shop floor and I’ll start again

I have learnt lots and lots and lots. I have become a lot more confident and I have also learnt how to build engines. I have become a much better engineer from this apprenticeship which has also helped me become a better person out side of the work place as well

I really enjoy my program as it is very fun, every day is a different day which is exiting as I never know what I could be doing next. I have lots of fun on the shop floor aswell because the people on there are very fun to be around.

The workplace is quite poorly organised and structured. This is due to the management team not always knowing what is happening in the workplace but is also due to the workplace not having many placements for us to use. This is because of COVID 19 however before COVID the workplace was still kinda bad when it came to management

We gets lots of support and there are things put into place to help us if we need the support. This is useful as it means we can rely on someone being there for us if something goes wrong or if we need help with our own metal state or anything like that,

I receive lots of support which is very good as I have a few different conditions including dyslexia. This means that I can sometimes struggle writing and reading. The workplace has helped me by giving me special equipment and also tools so that I can still work at the same speed as everyone else.

My qualification is good as it will help me get further into the field of expertise that I want to go to. It is very helpful to me as I want to be come and engineer and this is the first stepping stone to become one. I think the apprenticeship is good for that.

There are lots of extra clubs that we can join however I personally haven’t joined any of them. I know there is a cricket and sports club near the rolls Royce facility but I have never actually used it or seen anyone use it. It may be used for events as it is always being kept tidy.

Yes

Because it is a good apprentiship and has helped me realise what job I want in life and how I can get closer to the job. It is also good as you get paid to do a college course whilst also getting the experience that is needed to get a job at the end of it

Just be your self and always work as hard as you can. If you want to get into rolls Royce I would recommend that you get into some hobby’s that could help in an interview as it shows commitment to the cause and can help show what you like to do outside of work
