Daily tasks - Run jobs, estimate jobs, pre let meetings, agree prices with painters, agree painters time sheets, request labour, apply for invoices and final account projects. Send and complete RAM's, method statements, risk assessments. Order materials and agree discount/ rates on materials for projects. send off tenders and BoQ's.
Yes to be proactive with time as there isn't time to rest, always got to be on top of everything. Important to have a good relationship with clients and contractors to ensure that work keeps flowing and never stops. Allow people to believe they are helping even if you don't need it.
I enjoy uni but it isn't relevant to my company and we are the finishing trade so it is difficult to relate and understand other trades. Online makes everything harder as less interaction with lecturer and no interaction with other students. This limits the understanding of the trades and work.
There are many brakes in our days which are ok on line but when on the campus this causes issues as our days were 8-7 with 5 hour worth of gaps and this was not a good structure. especially as we have to get up for work the next day
They don't agree with uni work at work which is difficult. they say they do but only when all work is complete. this does not allow us any time to carry out uni work. meaning all weekends and after work are for uni. this is very demanding and not good for mental health.
Not sure what is meant by training provider so would guess not much. If meaning the lecturer. They try their best but it is very difficult on line as show them your examples and if you do it is in front of all the other students and is not comfortable.
Yes it does, but like i said it doesn't really relate to my trade but it is very good for understanding other trades and for the future for other works. Or a move in company to see how others work, it is good for understanding others and how they work
Not for part time students as we never have time as we work full time. we do not have the same opportunities as full time students as we don't have spare time unfortunately. weekend activated could be an option to get involved but then when would we be able to do our work. It is difficult to ballance
Yes
Felexible, understanding. Old fashioned company and morals and not always politically correct but they try and are kind. they allow you to get involved and take on work that big companies wouldn't. great o pportunity and working practice and workable enviroment even if some things are questionable to you .
be honest, open about issues and upfront.
