I am a Tank mechanic, my daily jobs involve removing and replacing components to complete tasks and get the tanks back out into use.
I've learnt many skills including tool use and people skills.
At first it was very enjoyable coming to work having lots of work to do but from covid-19 until now, it hasn't been anywhere near what we expected and i know covid-19 has had a part to play in that but it still has been underwhelming.
Considering we were the first year group to do this course it hasn't been great but all points considering, it has been good to be able to sort these problems out and move on with our job
We receive lots of support as when we try to sort a problem or have problems privately they can assist us almost every time.
We receive a good amount of support, as its in a larger scale though, its hard for them to provide maximum amount of support to every person as there are just to many of us but they do give us plenty
Our job role is quite an obscure one to have a qualification for so not really anything links other than the tool skills and some small components such as headlights or wiper motors etc.
No none for us
No
At the moment probably not as its quite difficult to see the things being sorted to a competent level but in future years I would 100% recommend as I'm sure all problems will be fixed and it will be a brilliant course.
Make sure you read the job role thoroughly and if you have any contacts inside the company ask and query to them what it is like to see if its the environment for you.
