  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt all of my first aid skills through an outside source. When I started the apprenticeship I had no first aid knowledge. I have learnt the process for passing on safeguarding concerns. I have learnt how to make a referral to an outside agency such as speech and language.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • When I 1st started I dodnt enjoy this programme at all. I was constantly missed off important emails. Dodnt receive webinar slides and felt communication was poor. If I had realised the end point assessment was what it is I would of asked my boss to find another training provider. The mapping and tracking document has been changer 3 times since I started and to be honest the lack of consistency is frustrating.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • At the start not very. As previously stated I was missed of a lot of things and documents keep changing which os frustrating. My assessor has been brilliant and I feel is probably as frustrated as me when things change. Ots got better as the course goes on but the early stages I was ready to quit

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Loads. My employer has been very supportive and has provided me with the time ive needed to attend webinars. She has also made time to sit with me and help with the tasks I've been set when I've needed it. Due to covid getting my assessor in to do observations has been tricky but sjes managed to help get her in.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • She is brilliant. She goes above and beyond. She's listened when I've struggled and made suggestions on how to approach things. Shes done this in a way that isn't patronising which being an older learner I was worried about. Shes also been understanding when I havent quite been able to finish everything that has been set

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification gives me the confidence that I need to do the best in my job role. I struggle to voice opinions so having the knowledge its given me is invaluable when it comes to making suggestions at work. Which in turn has a positive influence on the children as they are getting better experiences.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No.

  • 9a. Would you recommend The Kindergartens to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • I wouldnt recommend this provider as from my experience I feel like they are still finding their feet. For someone like me who needs clear objectives and goals this particular course just doesn't have that yet. It might be different for other courses but mine still feels like its got teething problems

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The Kindergartens?
  • Be prepared to have everything change on you in the click of a finger.
