My role is chef manager i am responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen and front of house. This is within an independent living apartment complex. i have a team of 5. I am responsible for the accounts food orders and all health and safety for the site.
I am learning new skills and developing new ones with the level 4 that i am currently completing. The skills that i am developing are my leadership skills and management skills. This is helping massively towards the team i have and making it more efficient. I am developing my skills in business also which i am happy with as i would like to progress up and i feel the business module is helping with that.
I really enjoy my programme this is the fourth one that i will have completed and i think they have helped me achieve the promotions that i have within my company because of the knowledge i have gained from them. I hope to complete a level 5 after the level 4.
It is very well organised and structured i have monthly visits with my vla and we make a plan of what work i will complete over the month for our next visit. We have time to work through anything i may be struggling with. I have the time to complete all work that is set.
I receive all the support that i need from my employer. I am able to access any information i need to help with my programme and if i need more information i can also speak with my manager to get that information. I am given the time to complete the work for the programme with my work day.
My training provider gives me all the support and more than i need they are there through out the entire programme. i have online support and also support through monthly meetings. i am also able to email, text and call for additional support where needed where i will always get a response.
I have learnt a lot from the qualifications i have received and they help me to perform at my job role better. i have knowledge i didn't have before them and i also have more confidence in the role i am in. and i hope to build on that whilst doing the level 4.
There is normally extra activities to do within the work place but currently these are not happening due to the current pandemic and the social distancing measures we have in place. I would normally get involved in a fair few events as i enjoy these as you get to meet different people.

I have worked for Elior for nearly 7 years now and i have no plans to stop. They have been a great employer to work for and have given me every opportunity to further my career within hospitality and have supported all my education needs. I started as a general assistant and am now a chef manager. I also won the EAE award for apprentice of the year in 2017. This was amazing to be shown recognition for the hard work i had put in which is something Elior always give back.
That working hard is recognized by Elior and if you want to progress your career or education Elior will support you in this goal. If you are focused on what you want it is definitely achievable. Elior do reward and praise all the hard work that we do. The you made a difference is another way Elior like to praise our hard work.
