My role differs from day to day at National Grid PMC. No two days are the same, PMC specialise in under pressure drillings, flow stopping on both metallic and PE mains to a wide variety of different sizes. We also conduct camera surveys and also offer a blasting and coating services to our customers.
I have learnt a huge variety of skills whilst at National Grid, the company invest huge amounts of time and money into growing you as a person. I have also developed on my existing skills such as communication skills, I.T literacy and my English and Maths skills, to name a few of many.
I really enjoy my programme at National Grid, it is a very well built and a structured programme, this keeps me very busy and hands on which completely fulfils my needs, as i am a practicable individual who likes to be hands on in the work i encounter, here at National Grid this is a daily basis.
My programme is very well organised and structured here at National Grid. Due to the current pandemic, some of the courses and arrangements have had to be changed which has been completely necessary. The admin team along with the training providers and also the academy team have done a fantastic job.
The amount of support you receive at National Grid is phenomenal, they care greatly about you as an individual and love to see you progress. We have 3 monthly reviews to see how we are progressing and any underlining issues that are raised we discuss how we can improve together.
The support received from our training provider is great here at national Grid.
It gives us a better understanding of the engineering principles and helps us to better understand the work being undertaken by the technicians out on site.
