I have regular rotations in different departments in the business, mainly in procurements functions. I also study a level 4 qualification in procurement and supply.
I have developed many skills such as communication, effective listening, time keeping, team working and more practically excel skills. I have also learned how to work with external stakeholders and implement continuous improvement techniques.
I enjoy my apprenticeship programme for the most part, however the pandemic and changes in line management have impacted by time here.
At the beginning it was very structured in terms of the rotation plan, now due to the pandemic and many areas working from home its become very "if and when" the opportunity arises.
I am provided with the working conditions and equipment to be able to complete my job and i receive my 20% of total working time studying for CIPS as promised.
We receive a lot of training materials e.g online training and textbooks. We also receive 1 lesson and 1 revision session over zoom for each module, I believe we should have more of this.
The CIPS qualification has generic theories and teachings that can be applied to any role - however it could be that the area i go into at the end of my apprenticeship isn't entirely procurement based.
I am apart of the works football team.
