From the beginning of my apprenticeship I was given lots of responsibilities and really made to feel part of the team. My work is not just focused on accounting, I work with my team in the FCA to help consumers.
I have really developed my problem solving skills, communication skills and presenting abilities. I have been involved in important team tasks and have had to work with lots of experienced colleagues to reach decisons.
I have really enjoyed my program so far. I feel so well supported and everyone is willing to help/explain things when I need. I had very little experience of my job role before I joined but the FCA are so supportive and helpful.
As an apprentice I have been given 20% of my time to study. This was flexible to how I wanted to do it, I opted for 1 day a week. There are always lots of conversations about what would suit me best for my program before any decisions are made.
My employer is very supportive of my study. They give me the allocated 20% of study time and it is flexible to suit particular study days. They also work with my training provider to monitor my progress.
My training is currently all online due to the pandemic. It has definitely made it more difficult as all my lessons are online. But I can call my training provider during the week and they can answer my questions, they have adapted quickly to online learning.
My employer has lots of social activities/sports that are company wide as well as regular interactions/networking within departments and teams.
Yes
I really feel supported within my role and like my employer wants me to do well. I am challenged daily and given responsibilities within the team that make me feel valued.
Understand the role/what the FCA does of course but otherwise just be you. Show personality at interviews and have a real interest in financial services
