We start off the day by getting the nail table set up will all the tools we need for the day then either watch a demonstration and attempt to have ago ourselves, or get straight into practising acrylic or gel application and also do some theory is this is necessary.
I started this completely new to the industry with 0 experience, I am now 6 months into it and I have learnt so much! I now know how to apply acrylic and gel safely and I keep learning new skills every lesson and I am definatley happy I chose this course
At first I was abit nervous as it was completely new to me but as soon as I got there everyone made me feel welcome and put my mind at ease, everyone has been helpful and I feel I enjoy doing nails as I'm improving every time I practice
I would say it is very much organised as far as the lessons and making sure we know everything we need to know before exams or practical assesments but I have been there for 6 months so far and have had 3 different tutors who all do things differently it would be better of course if we had one teacher all the way through
As I have had 3 tutors so far I can say they have all been very helpful and have taught me lots of new skills over the last 6 months and if I ever need any help from home it's there I have also been offered to come to an extra class because covid hasnt allowed us to attend all sessions
I would say alot as I have now passed all my exams with the help of revision sessions with one of the tutors and I have also passed some practical aswell through practicing in lessons with the tutors help I am happy with the support I have received over the last 6 months
Well as I haven't started charging money for my services it hasn't helped me in my role yet but I'm sure it will help me carry out nail services safely and effectily and my client will be happy with their nails because of all the training I have had
I started in September while we was in lockdown due to that we haven't had any sort of events or activities we was supposed to do a promotional event in a salon but due to Corona virus we unfortunley just had to come up with a plan without carrying out the event
Yes
I would definatley recommend city and guilds because this course has helped me develop the skills I need to become a nail technition I would say they maybe need to update the course as some of the assesments are abit old such as french as the assesment not many people ask for french as people frefer ombre but ombre isn't on the list
I would say make sure you turn up when you are supposed to as you will fall behind and it won't be easy to catch up as there is alot to learn in a short space of time with exams and practical and as long as you put the work in you will have a good qualification at the end
