My role is to identify skills gaps within the organisation and work with business areas to source the most appropriate training method taking into account the required learning, funding etc. I work with the business areas on a day to day business to support them to develop learning pathways which could include short training courses or apprenticeships.
I am looking forward to learning the methods and theories of skills analysis and also polishing up my skills in learning delivery.
I am really enjoying the apprenticeship programme - I am excited to learn new methods and also interacting with other companies and share ideas and see how I can work differently so that I can provide the correct support for the business areas within NATS. As I am an existing member of staff I was very apprehensive in starting the apprenticeship but I am really enjoying it.
The programme is structured really well. I know exactly when my face to face and virtual session are taking place and i have been told what we will be learning in the session. I know what the end point assessment looks like and what I need to do to complete the EPA.
My role has recently changed to L&D and my employer has encouraged me to complete this training so that I can be the best that I can be. I am always up for improving my skills and took the opportunity that was offered to me. I have a mentor and a team that will support me through the process.
I have received a lot of support from my training provider especially at the beginning when I was doubting whether I could start the apprenticeship. They have provided me with confidence that I can do this and will achieve at the end if I put my all into it. I know that they will support me if I have any issues along the journey.
I have gained much more confidence and I will perform better in my role as I will be given more responsibility in my new L&D role to develop learning programmes and support the delivery of learning.
I joined the company last year whilst in lockdown therefore haven't had the opportunity to attend any social events. However, we do have a social club, gym etc and when we get back to normality I will be joining these.
Yes
Everyone is so supportive and encourage learning whether it be apprenticeship, graduate schemes or eng tech programmes. I am really happy working for NATS and look forward to seeing what my future holds.
Go for it, NATS are a great organisation to work for.
