In my role I make sure labourers are paid for the correct number of hours. I manage subcontractor's and pay them based on the work that they have done. I work on excel daily. I also attend meetings daily to keep on top of keeping work organised.
The skills that I have developed are: 1. Communication skills 2. Problem-solving skills 3. Team-building 4. Organisation skills 5. Decision making skills 6. Public speaking skills 7. Management skills
I really enjoy the programme. It was definitely the best decision I have ever made applying for this job and putting the work and effort into making sure I received the offer. The people I work with are great are I am very much seen as an employee not an apprentice.
The programme is well organised and structure. I have a clear day for my studying and I am very much involved in the day to day working of a Quantity Surveyor.
I am given all of the support I need. I always have somebody to speak with if I am stuck with something, however I always make sure that I try things myself before asking for the help.
The support I have is great. It is always made obvious that we are able to jump on a call with any of our tutors for guidance and support and they are always open to reading our work prior to submission.
I do not believe that the qualification has a large impact on my role. I believe that some modules will have a larger impact than others on the role as it is more significant to the day to day role. However modules such as Health and safety and Academic Practice are not very significant for Quantity Surveying.
Yes, I am always given the opportunity to get involved in social enterprises and team building exercises. I am especially looking forward to the Brathay Challenge.

It is a fantastic company to work for. You are pushed to be the best you can be and set up for a life-long successful career in the industry. The people you are working with are the very best in the business. I truly believe I am being taught by the best.
Do as much research on the company as possible. Make sure to put your personality across, when they are interviewing you they want to know more about you, not the answers that you think they want to hear. Connect with as many people within the job role you are applying for.
